Change File Date – Time is a small software application designed specifically for helping you change the date and time of your files. It can be deployed on all Windows versions out there.

This is a portable utility which makes it an ideal candidate for being saved on USB flash drives. You can gain access to the tool’s features by simply running the executable file (there’s no installation included in the process). A quick deletion task is sufficient for getting rid of it because it does not store entries in your Windows registry.

You are welcomed by a clean and simple layout that reveals only a few configuration settings in the main window. The dedicated parameters look highly intuitive so you can easily make an idea about how to tweak them.

Change File Date – Time gives you the possibility to import files in the working environment using the built-in browse button (the drag-and-drop support is not implemented). The tool reveals information about each file, such as name, file path, and status.

What’s more, you are allowed to specify the date and time parameters directly in the main window. Batch actions can be employed for processing multiple files at the same time.

The application is not a resource hog so you do not have to worry that it eats up CPU and memory resources. On the downside, it has not been updated for a long time so it may cause compatibility issues on newer operating systems like Windows 8. We have tested it on Windows 8.1 Pro and noticed that the program is not able to apply the changes correctly to all files.

All things considered, Change File Date – Time needs functionality improvements until it can be called a reliable file management application.
