Daminion

Daminion is a professional software application that features powerful tagging capabilities for helping you alter image, video, audio, and document metadata.

The program has a simple user interface with all the main functions being managed from the main window. The working environment is divided into three smaller windows. The app includes information about the items in the catalog organized by different filters like media format, rating, creation date and time or the camera model used.

The first step in creating a catalog is to add your items and instruct the program to include the files without copying them, copy and add them to a catalog or delete the source files after the transfer is completed. You can pre-organize the items by group or assign a tag preset which will add information to the files. You can import data from CSV or PicaJet XML files.

After all the items are added to the app you can see different file info like format, size or picture dimension right from the main window. The view mode can be toggled between thumbnail, compact, detailed or film strip mode. The items can be batch renamed or only specific data can be copied like name with full path, tags or set of tags. To better organize your catalog items you can apply color tags and location. The catalog can be backed up and optimized to make sure you keep the items organized in the app.

The items can be opened and edited with the installed managers. For a catalog containing only pictures, you get to use editors like Paint or Windows Photo Viewer. Tags for different data type like photos and music files can be exported to CSV or PDF. Moreover, you can locate the files in an Explorer window using a top menu selection or a keyboard shortcut. The tool has a built-in Google, Bing and Yahoo map allowing you to search for your favorite locations.

Daminion is a simple utility for users who want to manage their file collection and have all the data in one place. The tool displays no errors and it does not load RAM and CPU during usage.
