Disk Usage Analyser
Disk Usage Analyser is a powerful tool that can index the files stored on your local disks and generate charts to easily find out the folders using up the most space on the drives.
The application adopts a Windows Explorer-like interface, so everything should be pretty easy, regardless if you’re a beginner or not.
The main window is being used not only to let you explore the content of the drives, but also to access the graphs, which can be further customized with a single right click.
Disk Usage Analyser thus shows a great amount of information on each folder, including size, item type, used, slack, number of files and folders, date modified and created, attributes and offline availability.
The left panel in the main window is supposed to display the graphs, which come in various flavors: pie charts standard and 3D or bar charts standard and 3D. They can display folder/file size, used space, slack or count. What’s more, the program lets you save the chart as a JPG anywhere on your computer.
While it can also export reports to HTML, CSV, XML or TXT, there are some drawbacks too. First of all, Disk Usage Analyser needs too much time to index all files and generate the charts. Secondly, it uses a fairly high amount of resources, so it seriously slows down the system during this time.
On the other hand, the program runs okay on all Windows versions and can be safely used by all types of users thanks to its user-friendly approach.
Overall, Disk Usage Analyser is a handy piece of software, but it needs some improvements to work faster and become friendlier with hardware resources.
