DupKiller

DupKiller is a very fast Windows freebie developed to help users find and remove duplicate files on the local disks.

Although it features a well-organized and clean interface, DupKiller’s GUI actually hides a great amount of tools and customization options, so it could take some time to discover all its goodies.

The application prompts users to choose the drives to scan, with support for floppy disks, removable drives and CD/DVD discs, network and virtual drives.

The duplicate finding process is fully-customizable, as DupKiller provides options to search either all files or specific formats, exclude files and folders from searching and adjust several other parameters.

For example, users are allowed to easily configure duplicate matching, with available options including same name, same date and time, same size, same type or content and similar names. What’s more, DupKiller can automatically compare files from the beginning or from the end, but also find files or folders with user-defined attributes.

Once the searching process comes to an end, a simple right click on any of the displayed files opens a whole new dimension to the user, letting him to delete, copy or move the file to another location. There are options to access the location in Windows Explorer or add the entry to the exclusion list.

The removal action can be customized as well, as DupKiller comprises options to show confirmations and to either move files to Recycle Bin or permanently delete them.

The duplicate searching action doesn’t take much time and the app remains very friendly with hardware resources all the time. What’s more, it works like a breeze on all Windows versions, with administrator privileges required in order to delete content from system-protected folders.

All things considered, DupKiller is a full-featured duplicate remover that comes not only with a great amount of features, but also with a freeware license to be freely used on any Windows workstation out there.
