EZSplit Lite

EZSplit Lite is a small software application whose purpose is to help you split or join files in order to ease file transfers via email or other platforms. It can be deployed on all Windows versions out there.

In order to run the utility correctly and avoid bumping into different errors, you need to install Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 or a higher edition on the target PC.

This is a portable program which makes it an ideal candidate for being saved on USB flash drives. You can gain access to the tool’s features by simply running the executable file (there’s no installation included in the process). A quick deletion task is sufficient for getting rid of it because it does not store entries in your Windows registry.

You are welcomed by a clean and simple design that employs a multi-tabbed environment for helping you set up splitting/joining parameters, verifying checksum, as well as configuring general options. A help manual is not included in the package, only a ‘Readme’ file that contains short descriptions about the tool’s capabilities.

The program can also be controlled via the command-line console, provided that you are familiar with inputting parameters in the CMD environment.

EZSplit Lite offers you the possibility to split a large file into small parts based on size. You may input the size value in kilobytes, megabytes, or gigabytes. Files can be added in the working environment using the built-in browse button (the drag-and-drop support is not implemented).

What’s more, you can set the data buffer size (the amount of data processed at once while splitting or merging files) by moving the built-in slider. You can make file associations so you can open the split files via EZSplit Lite.

You can also perform checksum calculations in order to verify the integrity of files by specifying the source file and providing the second item to compare to. Plus, you may choose between different hashing algorithms (e.g. MD5, SHA1, SHA256, SHA512) and copy the checksum data to the clipboard.

EZSplit Lite provides nothing more than a simple software solution for helping you split large files into smaller parts, and is suitable especially for less experienced users.
