The purpose of FastLocate program is to make search of many files or directories very fast. This is done by creating a local database which contains information of all files and directories from any kind of storage devices (Hard disk, CDROM, Flash etc.) and then search will be done in database rather than storage device.
Search in database instead of hard disk take much less time and system resources. You can create database from your CD's and easily search any file or directory even without CD. File control sum option make possible to know if file contents changed
