Filo

Filo provides a simple means of altering the properties of any file or folder on your computer. It can tamper with various attributes, including basic ones, such as the creation and modification dates, or advanced ones, such as the read-only and the hidden properties.

Drag and drop files to see and change their attributes 

Aiming to keep things as simple as possible, Filo features a one-window interface with no additional options and menu to deal with. The application features two drop targets, meaning you can simply drag and drop a file or a folder from Windows Explorer to the drop area to check out their properties in Filo and even modify them. It’s that simple. Alternatively, Filo enables users to also browse for files and folders manually using a standard dialog box.

As mentioned above, the attributes that Filo can alter include basic modification, creation and accessed dates, as well as more advanced ones. As such, you can make a file read-only or hidden, or turn it into an archive or a system file, if that is what you want.

Modify file attributes in batch 

A plus of Filo is that it allows batch operations, meaning it can modify the attributes of multiple files and folders at the same time. It recursively processes entire directories, looking for files or folders that match the filtering criteria you set. Moreover, it can also scan archives, as well as hidden, read-only and system files. It is possible to leave out certain files and folders by setting name filters.

Before applying the changes, you can run Filo in test mode. This allows you to preview the changes and collect statistical data only.

A simple attribute changer with batch support 

Filo can be used to change time stamp of files, remove read-only attributes or add custom time properties to folders. Of course, you can also do this in other ways but Filo is a real time saver when it comes to modifying attributes for a large number of files and directories.
