HJSplit PRO is a tool designed to help you split and join files of any format.

The small software doesn't come with an installation kit. Since it is portable, HJSplit PRO will not make any changes to your Windows registry entries.

Its user interface is plain and simple, so it's impossible to get lost in there. You have three functions at your disposal "Join", "Split" and "Checksum". They can be either accessed from the main window or from the "Function" menu.

In order to split a file, you have to select it by using the file browser (the "drag and drop" method is not supported), set its output destination and output file size.

The joining method is similar and you have to select only the first part of the file, since HJSplit PRO automatically recognizes the remaining ones. However, all the pieces must be placed in the same directory.

You can view the input and output file size, as well as the amount of files (in "Join"). Additionally, you can select a file to find out its checksum. A splitting task can take from several seconds to several minutes to complete (according to the file size).

Unfortunately, you cannot split or join several files at once and the software doesn't have any kind of user documentation. The interface definitely needs some improvements and we think the program should have contained advanced settings (since it has "PRO" in the title).

However, HJSplit PRO uses a low amount of system memory and we haven't come across any problems during our tests. We recommend using it when you want to divide files that are too large to send online or store on external devices.
