Run it on the fly
The installation process can be bypassed altogether, as this product is portable. Consequently, the Windows registry is not going to be updated with any new entries, unless your prior approval.
You should also keep in mind that you can easily run FileList on any computer you gain access to, by simply moving the program files to USB thumb drive.
Seeing that this tool is a command line, some beginners might find it a bit difficult to get around it. However, you should know that it enables you to view a list with all the options at your disposal, as well as how you should write everything in order to create the file you want.
As a result, it becomes pretty obvious that FileList can be easily used by everybody, without running into issues.
Filter file lists and details to add to them
As stated above, this utility enables you generate a CSV document in which to include a list of all files detected in a specified folder. Aside from that, you should know it is possible to add attributes to the resulted database, as well as the author name (only from MS Word documents), directory level, unique NTFS file reference number, and the corresponding MD5 and SHA256 checksum.
Aside from that, you should know it is possible to filter items according to date, size and attributes, as well as format the displayed time to the ISO standard.
To conclude, FileList is a handy software application when it comes to creating file lists in a CSV format. Tasks are going to be completed in a timely manner, the computer’s performance is not going to be hindered and we did not come across any hangs or crashes in our tests.
