RAR IFilter lets you index and search content of RAR archive files.

It extends Microsoft Indexing Service to extract all valuable information from the files stored inside RAR archive. This information includes archived directory names, list of the archived files, their metadata and content. Out of the box RAR IFilter indexes archived HTML, Microsoft Office and plain text files.

It is fully compatible with other IFilter components. Its functionality can be further extended by installing IFilters from IFilterShop or other providers. RAR IFilter also supports recursive indexing of RAR archives included in the archive.

RAR IFilter supports Internet Information Server, SharePoint Portal Server, Windows SharePoint Services (WSS), Site Server, Exchange, SQL Server and all other products based on Microsoft Search technology. When installed on Windows desktop operating systems RAR IFilter seamlessly integrates with MSN Desktop Search, Indexing Service and Windows File Search.
