Sort My Files

Sort My Files is a small software application designed specifically for helping you sort files in folders based on their file type, such as music, videos, and photos.

This is a portable program which can be stored on USB flash drives or other portable devices so you can have it with you all the time. You may run it without administrative privileges. Gaining access to its features requires only opening the executable file because there’s no setup included in the process.

No settings files and registry entries are left on the host computer so you can get rid of it using a quick deletion task.

Sort My Files gives you the possibility to specify the target directory where the items that you want to organize are stored. You are offered the freedom to select your own directories where files are saved based on each file type or create subdirectories in the selected folder.

You are allowed to organize files in folders by making the application automatically process data according with the file types. There’s support for several predefined categories, namely Music, Photos, Videos, Documents, Programs, Compressed, as well as Other Files. On the downside, you are not allowed to create a user-defined category.

Tests have shown that Sort My Files carries out a task quickly and without errors. It does not eat up a lot of CPU and memory resources so the overall performance of the computer is not hampered.
