Quick setup and user-friendly interface
The installation procedure does not take a long time to finish. As far as the interface is concerned, PerfectDisk Free Defrag adopts a regular window with a plain and simple structure, where you can examine a list of all drives, including network and removable devices. Details include the last date of optimization, size, along with file and free space space fragmentation percentage.
Analyze, optimize and defrag disk drives
It is possible to analyze drives, optimize them immediately, and perform a boot time defrag that occurs automatically at every Windows startup. Ongoing jobs may be paused and resumed at a later time if users want to allocate CPU and RAM to other applications with higher priority.
Examine, export and print analysis details
Analysis details include the start and end time, duration, total CPU time, actions recommended by PerfectDisk Free Defrag, drive information (e.g. file system, cluster size, used space), drive performance (before, after, difference), and so on. This data can be exported to file for closer examination as well as printed.
Evaluation and conclusion
We have not come across any issues in our tests, since PerfectDisk Free Defrag did not hang, crash or pop up error messages. It has a good response time to commands and runs on low CPU and RAM, so it does not affect the overall performance of the PC. Although it is not particularly resourceful in its skill set, this tool provides users with a simple and effective method of quickly defragging disk drives.
