Aero QLaunch

Designed for users looking for ways to visually enhance and personalize their operating system, Aero QLaunch is a 3D quick launch bar made for computers running Windows 7. It gives you the possibility to create a list with shortcuts that will be shown in a 3D representation, by assigning their icon to each face of a cube.

The setup operation doesn't take long. Worth noting is that the application offers to download and install DirectX, which is mandatory to work properly. Moreover, you must have the Aero effect enabled. If you experience any issues in this regard, you can ask the OS to check and fix them, such as decreased color depth or disabled Desktop Window Manager.

Once installed, Aero QLaunch gets integrated into the taskbar, and it can be disabled by opening the "Toolbars" submenu of the taskbar's right-click menu. It displays an icon next to the icons in the systray, which you have to hover to reveal the 3D shortcuts.

The default shortcuts include Internet Explorer, show desktop, and switch between windows. However, you can remove any of these entries from the list, as well as add new ones by simply copying the shortcuts to the "Quick Launch" folder.

It's also possible to refresh the 3D icons, summon the Start icon on hover, change the icon scale, check for software updates, as well as deactivate sound effects.

It didn't put a strain on the computer's performance in our tests, thanks to the fact that it needed a low amount of CPU and RAM to function normally. No error dialogs popped up and it didn't hang or crash.
