JetStart

When you are having trouble quickly accessing your favorite applications because they are buried under menus with a lot of items, or if you just want a launcher that can be loaded with your most used programs, you should get a dedicated software solution, such as JetStart.

JetStart includes quite a few features, but it does a poor job of showcasing them. Less experienced users might find it difficult to customize their list of favorite applications.

The index displayed at the bottom of the main window can help you glance over all your installed programs. The lack of tooltips, especially for generic-labeled buttons, may confuse some users.

Opening the JetStart toolbar can be achieved with the hotkey set by you. What the application fails to highlight is that you can double-click any of the tabs in the main window for the same effect. Resizing the toolbar is possible, but this level of customization does not carry over to all the windows.

With JetStart, you can populate the categories with shortcuts to the programs you often use. By using the configured hotkeys, you can either open the main window or the toolbar. With the former option you can execute any application on your computer by typing its name and pressing the Enter key.

Another feature of the program allows you to add shortcuts to a menu that can be triggered by moving your mouse cursor to the designated edge of the desktop. Sadly, this does not always activate the menu.

JetStart comes with features that you would want to use but configuring them to your needs is quite a daunting task. If you need a customizable launcher that is also easy-to-use, you might want to look elsewhere.
