Power Tools XP

Every operating system comes with a set of power options, which enable you to control the state of your computer and perform various reset and shutdown operations. In some cases, however, they might be slightly difficult to reach, or they may not allow you access to certain functions.

Power Tools XP, on the other hand, provides you with complete control of your computer's power options, by enabling you to shutdown, reboot or lock it faster than in the regular manner. Hence, you can quickly perform the aforementioned operations directly from the tray bar, using a simple right-click and selecting the desired option.

It is also possible to put the computer into sleep mode, as well as enter the hibernate mode to save power. As far as the more advanced functions provided by the utility, you can also make use of a scheduler, which allows you to enter the amount of time to wait before performing the action. Unfortunately, this option is only available for the shutdown operation, while the time interval must be expressed in seconds, which might cause some confusion.

It is worth noting that, despite its name, the application's functionality is not limited to the Windows XP operating system, since it can be used at full capacity on newer Windows versions as well. The low amount of resource it requires to run allows it to function even on older computers and it can easily be kept in the tray without affecting the rest of the system.
