SleepWalker

SleepWalker is a lightweight software application whose purpose is to help you automatically shut down your computer with a customizable timer.

At the end of the installation process, you can find the program residing in your system tray area. With a right-click on its icon you can quickly enable several tasks, like shut down or restart the computer, log off the current user, power off the monitor, or activate the hibernation mode.

SleepWalker gives you the possibility to automate a shutdown session by specifying the time and number of seconds in which the action can be cancelled.

What’s more, you can run the utility at Windows startup and reassign hotkeys for shutting down or restarting the computer, entering hibernation, logging off the current user, powering down the monitor, and running the screensaver.

The program lets you configure multiple timers to perform diverse actions (e.g. shut down the PC, run a file, activate the screensaver) at a certain time and on specific days of the week. Plus, you can make the tool force a computer shutdown.

A shutdown session can also be activated in case the computer is detected as being idle for a custom number of minutes. Plus, you can manually specify a time interval when the shutdown mode is disabled.

You are given the freedom to play a user-defined sound notification (MP3, WAV, OGG) when an event occurs and carry out several cleaning tasks during the reboot, shutdown or logoff procedure, like emptying the Recycle Bin and clearing Windows temporary files, recently used documents list, and Internet Explorer temporary files, cookies and history.

Other important settings worth being mentioned allow you to password-protect the app in order to make sure other users cannot alter your timer’s settings, and enable logging.
