Zombie Workstation improves network security by automatically logging off users that forget to log out
Zombie Workstation will automatically shut down your networked computerswhen they are not needed. Hence the name, a Workstation left on overnight or longer without any purpose for being on.
As well as wasting money and polluting the environment these zombie computers are a real security concern, Users can be careless, forgetting to log out or running away to the printer and other places for extended periods of time as well as afterhours personel having access to Zombie Workstations.
This security concern can now be dealt with by Zombie Workstation, detecting idle workstations and logging them off automatically.
Here are some key features of "Zombie Workstation":
· Specify in minutes how long a workstation is to be left on, for example if an employee is scheduled to work 8 hours per day. You can set Zombie Workstation to automatically shutdown the computer after 9 or 10 hours after warning the user. · Specify in minutes how long a workstation is in an idle state before logging out. Zombie Workstation determines whether a computer is not being used thus in an idle state or an inactive state and logs that computer out automatically after warning the user.
