Portable application which enables you to easily search for the most recently modified items in a specific directory and display them

editor's review

FFT is a software tool which provides users with a simple means of finding recently modified files from a selected location and view them.

The perks of a portable app

The installation process can be skipped with ease, as this product is portable. As a result, unlike installers, it is not going to add any new items to the Windows registry and hard drive without your approval, and no leftovers will remain on the disk after its removal.

Most importantly, you should know that you can take FFT anywhere with you and run it on any PC you have been granted access to, by simply copying the program files to an external data device, such as a pen drive.

Establish all parameters and start your search

By using this utility, you can easily find all the most recently modified items at a specified location and view them. In addition to that you should know that it is possible to input the time period in which to look for items and select the directory that interests you with the help of a file browser.

From the settings panel, you can choose whether or not to include folders in your search, add an attribute filter (e.g. system, hidden, read only), count sorted time and show attributes in listing and current search directory.

View results and copy them

The process does not last very long, yet it is important to understand that it depends on the number of items it has to scan and your PC’s performance. All results are going to be displayed in the main window as a list, and they can be sorted according to time or file name, and it is possible to select only some and copy them to the Clipboard.

To sum up, FFT is a pretty handy piece of software, which is dedicated to both power and novice users. Jobs are completed in a timely manner, the amount of resources required is minimal at any point and our tests did not reveal any bugs, errors or freezes.
