ImmersiveTaille

ImmersiveTaille is an application designed for Windows 8 that enables you to view the new Start Screen on your desktop, as an individual window.

This way, you can enjoy the use of the classic desktop while still being able to access applications from the Start Screen. It’s a very simple and effective solution for you if haven’t gotten used to it’s functionality.

The application requires no installation. All you have to do to apply this small yet big change to your operating system is to run the application. You instantly see that the Start Screen is now displayed in a window and you can access all the apps from there.

When you run ImmersiveTaille for the first time, you get the window in the lower part of your screen but you can change that from the settings. You can set it to appear on the left, top, right and bottom of your screen. In case you are using multiple screens, the application allows you to select the one you prefer.

Since the Start Screen is not always full of apps or contrary, has too many, ImmersiveTaille provides you with the means to resize the Start Screen window so it displays all that you need. You can do so by fine-tuning the values for its X and Y axis coordinates that give its position, as well as change its width and height.

As long as ImmersiveTaille runs, every time you hit the Windows key on your computer the Start Screen opens in the new window.

The application is truly practical in what it does and is very easy to use by anyone. The only problem you might encounter is the space that is left on your desktop if you choose to always have it present. In this case, ImmersiveTaille is best suited for large widescreen monitors, or on systems that use dual monitors.
