Everybody went through a moment in their virtual life when they had chosen to move a folder from one local drive to another, only to find the destination drive with not enough space (after over an hour of waiting to copy).
The Windows mothership sure has a way to make fun of us, doesn't she? Who ever knew such a simple problem didn't have a solution?
Total Copy is an awesome software that you can use under Windows, to pause and resume file copies.
So, how can you use it besides in the example already described? Well, let's look over a few other scenarios.
1. You are copying a large file, and then realize a second file has top priority. Why cancel the first file's process when you can pause it?
2. You are copying a file, but the network crashed briefly, or some error occurs. What a waste of waiting!
3. And, our personal favorite: if your computer is shut down while copying a large file, while start from scratch again?
Yes, in all these cases Total Copy lets you pause and resume action.
In addition, Total Copy can slow down the copying task and provide other processes with the freed memory, it copies just a little faster than Windows, and it does not interfere in any way with Windows' copy button.
The one huge disappointment we are obliged to mention here is the fact that Total Copy is only supported by Windows XP and ME. But other than that, it's the greatest tool that Windows completely missed when it was building itself.
