Map mouse and keyboard buttons and movement to controllers, gamepads, and joysticks to play PC video games in a different way for an enhanced experience. #Game control #Control software #Remote control #Controller #Control #Remote
There’s a constant battle between video game platforms, and each coming with its own input devices. They’re surely not compatible with one another, but can be tricked into fitting just well on a PC. However, not all PC games support controllers and joysticks, so applications like Total Game Control are a suitable choice to solve this issue.
After the application successfully gets installed on your computer, you’re welcome to try out the set of features. However, be sure to connect a controller to your PC, because there’s little to no use otherwise. Upon launch, an automatic detection process begins, and you’re brought to the device tab of the main window to set it up.
On the visual side of things, Total Game Control keeps things simple and stores all of its features in a classic, compact window frame, with several tabs for Control, Mouse, Device, and Settings. Most options you hover the mouse cursor over bring up a balloon tooltip with thorough descriptions, so you don’t get stuck along the way.
Some PC video games don’t support controllers of any kind, so this application binds mouse movements to axis, and keyboard buttons to other triggers. This helps experience games in a different way, with the possibility to create different profiles for each of your favorite titles. These are saved and selected from a drop-down menu.
Defining a new control profile is pretty intuitive. There’s the description to let you know what the specific action does, with an option to automatically detect controller triggers, while setup of buttons asks to press buttons, set delay, as well as hold and release timers.
There’s also a system tray icon where the application goes when minimized. Sadly, it can only be used to bring back the main windows again, and it would have been useful to see the possibility to quickly change profiles from there.
To sum it up, Total Game Control comes with good intentions, and is sure to change the way you play specific video games. Automatic detection options make sure your controller is properly used, while creating different profiles can be done for all games you want to play, and with little effort.
