An eye-candy interface is a must have nowadays, not only in case you aspire to have greater efficiency, but also if you intend to make the whole working thing a lot more pleasant.
Windows XP and 2000 users are somewhat left out in the cold, since newer versions of the operating system provide a lot more customization options, not to mention the way they look.
Well, those who want to make their Windows 2000 or XP machines look like a Vista can do that with the so-called Vistapack, a whole suite of enhancements that change most of the operating system’s appearance.
Before starting the installer we’d recommend to create a Restore Point because in some cases this kind of software apps might break down Windows when trying to uninstall, so it’s better to stay on the safe side.
Installation is actually the most important process when working with Vistapack because this is the moment when you have to choose which elements will be copied on your computer.
Beside the main files, you can also install the Vista cursors, the screensavers, the wallpapers and the fonts, so your experience will get closer to the genuine one.
Dropping the files on the computer took around 5 minutes during our test, but everything worked like a charm and our XP testing machine got some new and fancy clothes. Truth is, the pack does look great, but it might slow down Windows a little bit on older machines.
The removal process worked perfectly in our case but, as we said, it’s better to have a restore point just to be sure nothing goes wrong.
All in all, Vistapack is one of the tools to be considered when looking to pimp your Windows, but it’s always better to try the newer Windows if you still dream about its interface.
