Windows Sidebar Styler is a very simple application designed to help you customize some of the items included in Windows Vista Sidebar.
Although you may find the app a bit more difficult to use at the first glance, it takes a few minutes to figure out how to use it.
In just a few words, Windows Sidebar Styler lets you change the image resources with some of your own, thus customizing the look and bringing a fresh new interface to the popular Windows Sidebar.
You can change virtually everything that's included in the Sidebar, be it buttons, scrollers, radio boxes, the default gadget icon, gadget headers, image placeholders and many other items.
Although it looks more or less appealing, the interface isn't the best we've seen and it's pretty difficult to find the features you're looking for. The bottom of the main window holds several buttons, but you need to move the mouse cursor over their icons to find out what their purpose.
Other than that, the application may come in handy to many users out there. You can always save the new Sidebar style separately on your computer, load a new one that's stored on the local disk, revert images to default or uninstall styles and extensions.
Even if it comes with a help menu, you need an Internet connection to access the documentation because it is available via the official website of the developer.
So all in all, Windows Sidebar Styler is a nice tweaking tool, but don't forget to make a backup before anything else. It's always better to stay on the safe side.
