Memory History Tool

Memory History Tool is a lightweight application that enables you to keep track of the RAM usage on your system in real-time, so you can take action in case an app eats too much memory.

After a quick and forthright setup, you come face to face with an appealing and intuitive interface. At first glance, you get the impression that a large percentage of the UI is dedicated to the background photo and a few Angry Birds animation. However, the area has the role to display the memory usage levels in color codes.

If an application consumes too much memory, you are likely to notice it via the graphic display. You should know that the program allows you to change the background image with any picture you like. On the other hand, to alter the photo, you need to access and copy your album in the installation folder, which is rather inconvenient.

The application provides you with a few basic information about RAM usages, such as overall performance level and the process that consumes most of the memory at the given time. Based on additional data, such as the total RAM as well as the Load and Avail details, you can decide whether your system could use a memory upgrade.

At the same time, the program enables you to view a list of the processes that are running on your computer. Similarly to the data you commonly find in Windows' Task Manager, the report displays the name of the process along with the memory working set and full image path, where read access is allowed.

Although it provides you with slightly more information than the Task Manager, Memory History Tool only enables you to preview the data without taking any action. The app can be useful in situations when you are testing for a memory leak or want to know whether your computer could use more RAM.
