Video Card Detector
Video Card Detector is a straightforward program that targets users in need of a simple tool that can provide information related to the video card residing on their computer.
Finding this type of info can be done using the traditional method, via Windows’ Device Manager, but the downside is that it may be somewhat uncomfortable for beginners to interpret the data delivered by this OS built-in function.
An approach that benefits less experienced users is through a third-party application, such as Video Card Detector. It provides a user-oriented approach by fetching the most important details of a graphics card without requiring any special effort.
This is a tool that does not require installation, hence it is portable and can be carried on a removable drive and launched from there. Simply double-click it and press the ‘Get Video Card Details’ button in order to initiate the detection process.
The retrieval of the card details is done instantly, the result being a report that includes the name of the video card, the processor, refresh rate, adapter RAM, description (as provided by the producer), DeviceID and driver version.
Unfortunately, there’s no possibility to export the report to an output file, however, the fields can be copied separately to the clipboard.
Video Card Detector is a simple utility, but carries out the task it was built for. It is solely aimed at detecting the local video card and retrieving information about it, therefore other computer components won’t be taken into consideration during the analysis.
