Part of the Canon Color Network ScanGear package, the ScanGear Tool is the program you will need in order to search the LAN and select the desired scanner unit from a list of available devices. The interface is as simple as it gets, but it is quite well structured so all the information is easy to get and read.
The first thing you have to do after opening ScanGear Tool is choose the address discovery mode and let the software run do the searching. In case the scanner you need is not on the list, you can try to establish a direct connection by specifying the IP address or hostname manually, in the dedicated area.
As soon as the devices are identified, you will be able to view a lot of details for each unit, including the product name, its location and address, as well as the feeder and department ID as it is provided by the driver.
All in all, Canon Color Network ScanGear is the solution all Canon users will need in order to access or make available their scanners over the local network. Easy to install and configure, this software does its job without missing a beat.
