DirectIT Directory Monitor is a free and small program that will monitor any Windows folder and launch a selected program, file, macro, etc. when a file in that directory (or one of its subdirectories, if you choose) is created, renamed, deleted, or changed (depending on the criteria you select).

DirectIT is great for monitoring activity on a server, shared drive or automating a directory related process. I originally designed this tool to launch a .bat file that copies the contents of folder “A” to folder “B” every time a new file is created in folder “A” so that the two folders were always synchronized. However, this is just one of MANY uses for this program.
