Softpedia Editor's Review for MJ Registry Watcher
|
A simple registry, file and directory poller
Written by Ana Marculescu on June 6th, 2013
MJ Registry Watcher is a simple software application that can monitor the startup files, registry keys and values, and other registry locations that are usually attacked by Trojans.
The user interface is simplistic, and you can get used to working with this tool pretty quickly. The application is set to poll at every thirty seconds by default, but you can change the time to anything between 0 and 9999.
Not only does MJ Registry Watcher poll the system, but it is also able to report the changes to keys, files and directories on the spot.
You can make the application send email alerts whenever it detects possible malware on your computer. It is possible to opt for a prompt alert notification, or you can select to automatically accept or reject the changes. The program is also able to quarantine subkey additions, file and directory additions.
You may enable sound, logging, automatic registry backup, and set alert sounds. The application displays a log with all the entries that may affect your system’s security. The log cannot be exported to file, but you can perform searches within the log, as well as print and edit the report.
The program provides a powerful built-in search engine that can help you find what you are looking for in different locations, such as key list, value and subkey list.
Furthermore, it is possible to select from different security levels (highest, high, medium, default, light, custom), and to reset the window’s dimensions.
All things considered, MJ Registry Watcher proves to be a handy tool that can help you monitor the startup files, registry keys and values, and other registry locations that may be harmful to your system’s health. It is easy to work with, and also light on your system resources.
