Simple Macro Recorder

Macros provide a convenient way to automate repetitive computer tasks, saving you a significant amount of time. Based on the robust automation engine of Macro Scheduler, its older brother, Simple Macro Recorder delivers a stripped-down edition with much fewer features but having the primary macro recording options.

One of its perks is the lack of a standard installation process. Simple Macro Recorder is launched as you double click on the main executable file, presenting its overly simple interface.

The main window encloses a table that holds the history of all the macros you recorded, along with the basic recording controls you need to start capturing the desktop actions. Overall, there is nothing too complicated, so it's highly unlikely you will get stuck when working with Simple Macro Recorder.

To record a new macro, you must press the "Record" button. Simple Macro Recorder enables you to assign a relevant name to the new recording and allows you to configure a few settings in a new window. For instance, you get to decide upon the playback speed and the mouse sensitivity. You can instruct the application to capture the window names and their positions, take snapshots of opened windows, and even run a script before recording.

Simple Macro Recorder captures all the mouse and the keyboard events. To stop recording you must press a custom key combination, that is, if you don't want to click the corresponding button in the main window of Simple Macro Recorder.

Macros you record with Simple Macro Recorder can be run to have the computer perform routine tasks without your intervention. Simple Macro Recorder enables you to view the macro script code but in read-only mode. Editing features and other advanced tools, such as a script compiler to create standalone Windows apps, are available in Macro Scheduler Lite or Macro Scheduler.
