SnK (which stands for Search and Kill) is a lightweight application designed to help you identify certain processes on your computer based on given criteria and terminating them without difficulty.

You can rely on SnK if you have multiple processes running on your system and need to terminate one or many of them without having to launch Windows' native Task Manager utility.

You have various criteria at your disposal that you can use to filter certain processes, which comes in handy especially if you don't know the exact name of the process or its PID. It is possible to terminate processes that have the highest CPU load, ones that use DirectX (Direct3D), OpenGL or Glide (3Dfx) and also non-responsive ones.

Since it is portable, this application does not require you to install it on the target computer, as simply unpacking the contents of its archive file grants you full access to its executable, which is fully operational.

More so, it does not tamper with any of your registry entries, nor does it create additional files or folders on your computer. It can be run from removable storage media such as USB flash drives or external HDDs, as well.

A small inconvenient of this program is that it does not sport a standard Graphical User Interface (GUI), but comes with a Command Line Interface (CLI), which can be disconcerting to some users that might fail to launch it or understand its capabilities.

However, if you launch the application using the "/hlp" argument, you receive a list of its functions along with brief explanations about how they can be employed. This can help you familiarize with its features without actually having to use them, as killing certain processes can make you lose progress.

SnK is a command line application that lets you search for certain processes on your computer and terminate them according to your needs. Although it does not have an actual process manager component that lets you view all the active ones, it provides you with several sorting criteria that you can easily use.
