Internet Cyclone is one of those software solutions that promise to do wonders with your Internet connection and, no matter how slow this is, it attempts to boost its speed by up to 200 percent.

We do know that this sounds quite awesome, but before jumping into conclusions it’s worth mentioning that Internet Cyclone can’t do much good if your Internet connection isn’t capable of achieving greater speeds.

So it all comes down to your operating system. And that’s the main reason why we’d recommend you to make a backup to your registry settings before making any changes, either from Windows or directly through Internet Cyclone.

The application prompts the user to choose between four different optimization methods, three automatic and one custom. Of course, this last one needs some computer knowledge, so it’s better to try one of the first three and see which one fits you best.

Without adopting a geek language, the custom mode lets you play with the maximum transmission unit, the TTL, the cache size, the RWIN and the Session Keep Alive function. There are a few additional goodies but, once again, it’s highly recommended to use the automatic settings if you don’t know what you’re doing.

Each optimization requires a system reboot, so chances are that you’ll restart the system three times before finding out which settings bring the greatest speed increase. We did the exact same thing during our test and we got a slight speed boost, but nothing too impressive.

After all, if you’re tired with your slow speed connection, Internet Cyclone is worth a try. It has a lot of options and is aimed at beginners and power users alike.
