Registry Clean Expert 4.90
The user interface is easy to navigate through and consists of six major areas – “Scan and Clean,” “Backup and Restore,” “Defrag Registry,” “Startup Organizer,” “Internet Explorer BHO Organizer” and “Privacy Eraser.”
Upon initiating the application, it suggests you perform a backup on your Windows registry entries. However, this can take a long time to complete.
Select registry entries to scan and manage startup items
By using Registry Clean Expert it is possible for you to select which categories in the registry you want to scan, backup and restore, while you can also perform a defragmentation of the registry.
In addition, you can disable apps which automatically run at computer startup, delete adware and spyware from the computer, as well as remove web browser leftovers (note that you cannot select a particular Internet browser), Windows temporary files, and others.
Other options to tinker with
In the "Settings and Tools" menu, you can change the Internet Explorer homepage, create a registry exception list, access various Windows utilities (e.g. "Disk Cleanup", "Device Manager"), set an automatic reminder, disable pop-up ads with Messenger Service titles, enable the program to ignore files on removable devices, and more.
The program uses a moderate amount of system resources and contains a thorough help file. However, besides “Scan and Clean,” all other functions are offered by Windows. So, Registry Clean Expert does not exactly bring something new to the table.
