CrystalMark is a full-featured benchmark application that can be used for assessing the performance and capabilities of a computer. It provides options for evaluating each hardware component, generating complete reports that comprise detailed information about the system's functioning parameters.
The application can test the CPU and the RAM memory, as well as the hard disk's read and write speed and the video capabilities of your computer. Prior to initiating a test, you are advised to close all the other running programs, in order to ensure the accuracy of the results. The evaluation might take a while, since you cannot choose which components to include in the test.
Using specialized algorithms, CrystalMark run thorough tests for the arithmetic logic unit (ALU) and the floating point unit (FPU), recording the system's computing speed and assigning it a score for each test.
In addition to this, it can evaluate the performance of the memory (read and write speed, cache), the HDD's read and write speed and the GPU's capabilities. During the GPU tests, it runs 3D videos on screen and allocates ratings to the graphics device interface (GDI), Direct Draw and OpenGL. The results can be submitted online and compared to that of other systems with a similar configuration.
CrystalMark also displays detailed information about your computer's hardware and software components, enabling you to view the operating system version, the machine name, model and manufacturer, BIOS data, total, used and available memory or motherboard charactristics. Also, there are dedicated tabs that provide details on the CPU's configuration (vendor, family, memory, clock and so on), the processor's chipset, the GPU and the network adapter.
CrystalMark can provide an estimation of the system's capabilities, while also creating a complete sheet containing its configuration. It offers both overall and subsystem scores, enabling you to save the results of the tests to disk in text or HTML format.
