Norton SystemWorks enables you to install on your computer the following programs:
· Norton AntiVirus
· Norton Utilities
· Norton GoBack
· One Button Checkup
· System Optimizer

One Button Checkup scans - Checks for and repairs problems on a set schedule. One Button Checkup integrates many diagnostic and repair features in Norton SystemWorks.

Norton Disk Doctor - Performs a series of surface analysis tests to ensure the integrity of your disks and repairs problems. By working alone or with Norton System Doctor, it continuously checks for disk problems and alerts you when they occur.

Norton WinDoctor - Performs a series of tests to diagnose and fix most Windows problems. By working alone or with Norton System Doctor, it continuously checks for Windows problems, and alerts you when they occur.

Norton System Doctor - Monitors and analyzes various parts of your computer, including disk and CPU usage, disk integrity, system integrity, network throughput, Internet site access time, and more.

Express Cleanup - Express Cleanup scans your computer for unnecessary files that have been left on your computer after you browse the Internet. It also rids your PC of history files left behind after viewing or listening to media items on your computer.

Custom Cleanup - Custom Cleanup scans your computer for unnecessary files and organizes them by category. You can view detailed information about each file and save it from future cleanups, or delete them.

Disk Drive Restore - Recovers your disk drive by returning your computer back to the way that it was before damage occurred. Advanced Disk Drive Restore provides more choices for specifying recovery time and dates.

Post-Restore File Rescue - Locates and rescues the individual files that were lost following a Disk Drive Restore or an Advanced Disk Drive Restore.

Disk Drive Compare - Creates a virtual copy of your disk drive so that you can compare the virtual copy with your current disk.

File & Version Rescue - Locates lost and accidentally deleted files and folders by using a search tool. Also rescues old versions of files.

SafeTry Mode - Protects your computer during any activity that may cause unexpected or unwanted results. If the activity causes any problem, SafeTry Mode lets you return your computer to its safe condition.

AutoBack - Ensures that your computer is automatically wiped clean and returned to a clean state. This is useful if your computer has multiple users, or if children use your PC.

UnErase Wizard - Locates and recovers files that are protected by Norton Protection or the Windows Recycle Bin.

Norton Protection - Adds extra data recovery protection to the Recycle Bin. When used in conjunction with UnErase Wizard, it provides a complete recovery system for all deleted or overwritten files.


Cleaning unwanted files from your computer
Norton Cleanup lets you free up space on your computer while protecting sensitive information and helping to maintain your privacy. This feature lets you quickly and safely delete files that accumulate after you browse the Internet and perform other computer activities.

Norton Cleanup only gets rid of the files that you want cleaned up. Use Norton Cleanup Options to specify which items you want to save.

With Norton Cleanup, you can do the following tasks:
· Use Express Cleanup to immediately remove clutter from your PC.
· Use Custom Cleanup to view individual files and other Internet items and choose which ones to save or delete.
· Use Norton Cleanup Options to update the list of favorite Web sites and to select which related items you want to save during cleanup activity.

Improving a computer's performance
Your computer’s hard disk stores all of your files, applications, and the Windows operating system. Over time, the bits of information that make up your files are spread over the disk. This is known as fragmentation. The more that you use your computer, the more fragmented it gets. Before long, a fragmented hard disk can cause the entire system to slow down.

Speed Disk defragments the bits of information on your hard disk and rearranges them for greatest efficiency in a process called optimization.

Speed Disk is a powerful tool you can run with its default settings, or you can customize it to meet your file placement requirements.

Finding and fixing problems
Trouble-free computing depends on the integrity of your computer, which requires an error-free hard disk and a correctly installed copy of Windows. Although most computers start out this way, over time Windows and hard drives are likely to degrade. This degradation, if not corrected, can ultimately lead to data loss. Norton SystemWorks includes Norton Utilities tools to monitor your computer for potential problems, examine your disk for directory and disk problems, and diagnose Windows problems. Norton System Doctor continuously monitors your computer to keep it running at peak efficiency. If directory, disk, or Windows problems occur, you can diagnose and fix these problems quickly using Norton Disk Doctor and Norton WinDoctor.

One Button Checkup
One Button Checkup scans your computer with a collection of diagnostic tools that cover the most critical computer activities including disk integrity. If you use Norton AntiVirus, One Button Checkup also covers virus protection.

You can run One Button Checkup whenever you think that you may have a problem, and to ensure that your computer is performing to its optimum capability. You can customize One Button Checkup to specify which scans should run, and schedule automatic checkups. You can view a history of repairs that were made by One Button Checkup, and export the repair history as a text file in case you need further diagnostic analysis. You can also undo a repair if necessary.

When Norton SystemWorks is installed, One Button Checkup is scheduled to run a weekly scan. If One Button Checkup finds any errors, it prompts you to fix them. You can set One Button Checkup schedule options to run specific scans and to repair any problems automatically.
