RegToy is the kind of application that could really do wonders on your computer and may simply upset you because you’ve never heard of it before.
Although designed to let you play with the Windows registry a little bit, RegToy has evolved so much that now includes basically all the things you’d ever need to have full control over your operating system.
It continues to include the registry tool, so you can still edit some of the hidden settings, but it comes with a lot more than that.
For example, there is a disk cleaner for removing junk files, invalid shortcuts, duplicate files or empty folders, a file renamer for batch renaming, a file splitter, a memory cleaner for boosting computer performance, a file shredder to make sure no one will be able to recover the files you delete, a service manager and even a wallpaper changer.
The only problem we’ve discovered during our test concerns the TrayIconManager tool that doesn’t seem to work on Windows 7, so we got a not responding screen every time we tried to load it.
Otherwise everything is fantastic, including the startup manager and the uninstall manager, two tiny utilities that give you the power to uninstall the apps and control the ones that are supposed to load together with the operating system.
The amount of used CPU and RAM depends on the tool you click, but the application doesn’t exceed the acceptable barrier, so you should be able to run it on older computers too.
It’s pretty obvious that RegToy is one of the most useful apps on the market, so we’re more or less forced to give it a five-star rating.
