Taskbar Eliminator is a lightweight and portable application whose only purpose is to hide the Windows taskbar. The difference between it and the built-in system function for accomplishing this task is that the taskbar does not appear when you move the mouse cursor to an edge of the screen.
Since installation is not a requirement, you can simply drop the executable file anywhere on the HDD and run it directly. Alternatively, you can save Taskbar Eliminator to a USB flash drive or similar storage unit, in order to run it on any workstation with minimum effort.
An important aspect to take into account is that the app does not leave any traces in the Windows registry or files on disk after eliminating it; a standard file deletion is suffice.
At initialization, Taskbar Eliminator automatically hides the taskbar. You can bring up its panel using the Ctrl+Alt+T key combination, in order to show it on screen, as well as enable or disable the app from automatically running at system startup. There aren't additional options available.
As expected, the program uses a barely noticeable amount of CPU and memory, so it doesn't damage system performance or interrupt user activity. Its only downside is that it doesn't display a message at initialization to inform you of the hotkey combination. If users don't have this information at hand, they will simply terminate its process from Task Manger and most likely deem Taskbar Eliminator as unusable.
