Tweak-7 is a tool designed to help you tweak your desktop for Windows 7. It also offers some tools for cleaning and optimizing your system.
The user interface of the program is clean and intuitive. Once you initiate the application, a message pops up from the system tray, notifying you of any problems with your operating system.
So, you can view system information and statistics, as well as perform hard disk tweaks (e.g. clear the system pagefile on system shutdown, increase the speed of NTFS formatted drives by disabling "Last Access Time Stamp", disable "Windows File Protection").
But you can also tweak the CPU and system cache (e.g. enable CPU check routing for the next Windows startup, optimize CPU for applications or background tasks), and the memory.
Furthermore, you can configure applications which automatically run at system startup, enable or disable system auto logon and auto shutdown, and create virtual drives from any folder.
In addition, you can configure system folder settings, OEM information, system time synchronization and Windows error reporting. But you can also tweak Windows Explorer, User Account Control and others (e.g. mouse, keyboard, screen font smoothing), while setting restrictions for the control panel, Windows applications, taskbar, startmenu, desktop and others (e.g. "System Restore" and "System Recovery", device installation, Windows games).
Tweak-7 also lets you make startmenu, taskbar, desktop, context menu, shortcut overlay icon, common control, Internet Explorer, network, Outlook, tweaks and customizations.
Plus, you can access various utilities and enhancements, including a Windows utilities control panel, system cleanup, shortcut cleaner, system restore point manager, file wiper, registry cleanup and defragmentation, as well as restrict access to applications, folders and drives.
The program uses a low amount of system resources, includes a comprehensive help file and didn't pop up any errors during our tests. You can perform an automatic customization and take Tweak-7 snapshots.
The bottom line is that Tweak-7 is a very powerful tool that offers a complete solution when it comes to customizing and tweaking your Windows 7. We strongly recommend it to all users.
