Windows XP Tweaks
Windows XP Tweaks is a straightforward piece of software that makes some adjustments to Windows XP, in order to boost its responsiveness to commands.
It does not require user assistance, as it fully automatizes this operation.
All you have to do is click the "Agree" button when running the setup pack, and modifications will be applied to the computer. However, a system restart is necessary and commit changes.
The utility does not provide an option for reverting settings to their original state, though.
Basically, Windows XP Tweaks loads the system core into physical memory instead of the virtual one, in order to speed up the system. It forces the operating system to use more RAM than usual, and it also disables the indexing and Messenger services, since they typically imply a slower overall performance.
No error dialogs were shown in our tests, and the app did not hang or crash; we have not come across any kind of issues, and we have noticed the OS’ overall speed increased. Unfortunately, Windows XP Tweaks has not been updated for a very long time. Nevertheless, it proposes users a simple method of optimizing the system with minimum effort.
