Uninstalling an application is sometimes more difficult than you might be tempted to believe, not only because it leaves a bunch of unnecessary files on your computer, but also because the app's entry remains in the Add or Remove Programs list.
That's the purpose of Add/Remove Manager, a very simple utility that enables you to delete unnecessary entries from the aforementioned list, thus helping you keep everything organized and easy to handle.
The application comprises a very basic interface in which the programs are listed right in the main window, with a few details, including the name and version, the publisher, support information, product updates and comments, displayed at the bottom.
There are two available options to manage the installed applications. You can either uninstall them completely using the dedicated button in the main window, or you can use the “Remove Selected Program” option hidden under the “File” tab.
There's one thing to be clarified here. While the “Uninstall Program” button removes a given application completely, the other option is specifically designed to serve the main purpose of the program and remove the entry from the “Add or Remove Programs” list.
Everything worked flawlessly during our test, but Windows 7 users must keep in mind that they will have to run the app as administrator in order to be able to apply the changes.
What we liked the most about the app was the interface, which kept things very simple and easy to use. But although the look was pretty straightforward, some users may still need a help manual, which was completely missing from the package.
So as a conclusion, Add/Remove Manager is a nice utility to make sure everything's organized in your installed programs list. Since it's free and runs on very low resources, you should give it a try right now.
