Fast Uninstaller is a lightweight software solution developed to help users remove installed applications from their systems.
Although it provides almost the same basic features as the standard “Add/Remove Programs” utility available by default in Windows, Fast Uninstaller can prove to be a very handy tool in case your computer got infected by a virus.
It doesn’t require any advanced computer knowledge because it all comes down to a simple window displaying the installed software. Basically, it’s enough to select any of the displayed items and hit the uninstall button.
Basic uninstallation operations
While Fast Uninstaller promises to clean all files of the installed apps, including shortcuts and registry entries, all it does is to launch the program uninstaller and perform a simple removal. It doesn’t scan the system for leftovers, so the cleaning process is again very basic.
Another problem is that the main and the only window cannot be resized, which is quite a problem in case you have plenty of apps installed.
On the good side however, Fast Uninstaller needs just a second to start the uninstall process and remains very light on hardware resources all the time. Of course, administrator privileges are needed on Windows 7 workstations.
To sum up, Fast Uninstaller is indeed a handy project, but it clearly needs a lot of improvements. At this moment, it does exactly the same thing as the standard program uninstaller included in Windows, with no advanced features to scan the system for leftovers.
