Quick Res is a very simple Windows software solution that places an icon in the System Tray to help users easily change screen resolution on the go.
There’s nothing too complicated about this program and you shouldn’t spend too much time setting up its features because it relies on quite a straightforward approach.
The System Tray icon we were talking about enables users to change the resolution and monitor frequency with a single click, displaying all options supported by both the video card and the monitor.
There are separate resolutions for 256 colors, HighColor and TrueColor modes, while a favorites menu lets you save the configuration you use the most. What’s more, the application can restore the old resolution, just in case the new settings don’t work as they were supposed to.
A settings screen is also available, but nothing to worry about because it only allows you to disable timeout after changing resolution and choose between English and German.
