Alarm Clock is a simple gadget for your desktop that enables you to set up alarms in just a few steps. It packs a user-friendly interface with handy options.
The small-sized frame has a red background and can be moved to any position on the screen. If you also make it stay on top of other windows, Alarm Clock becomes unintrusive and you can quickly switch to its window from any application you're working in.
Time is shown in the 12-hour clock format, and this option cannot be changed. You can enable an alarm and specify the hour, minute and second to trigger at, or make the clock ring according to a countdown timer, by selecting a preset value, ranging from 1 minute to 30 minutes.
A few preferences can be customized from the Settings panel where you can specify a custom alarm sound or song (e.g. MP3, WAV), hide the seconds (except when running on battery), pick other frame colors, and set the blur effect intensity.
Alarm Clock is very light on the system resources, running on a very low quantity of CPU and RAM. It has a good response time and works smoothly, without causing the OS to hang, crash or pop up error dialogs. Unfortunately, you cannot schedule multiple alarms or assign comments.
