AlarmClock Vista Gadget
AlarmClock Vista Gadget is a lightweight and simple-to-use gadget for your desktop, that enables you to set up a simple alarm. Therefore, you can schedule notifications for important meetings and events. It can be seamlessly installed and set up, even by users with minimal background in software tools.
The interface of the program is based on a small frame that you can move to any position on the screen, with the help of the mouse cursor.
So, you can input any hour and minute to trigger the alarm at, or select presets from drop-down lists. Plus, it is possible to assign your own sound file from the computer as an alarm notification.
Unfortunately, AlarmClock Vista Gadget does not integrate any options of its own. But, thanks to the default settings provided by the operating system, you can open the context menu to make the frame stay on top of other windows, or to set its opacity level to a preset value, ranging from 20% to 100%.
The gadget is very light on the system resources, using a minimal amount of CPU and system memory. It is very responsive to key strokes and mouse events, and works well, without causing the OS to hang, crash or pop up error dialogs. We have not come across any issues throughout our evaluation. On the other hand, AlarmClock Vista Gadget has not been updated for a pretty long time, and it comes packed with limited features, suitable only for beginners.
