World Clock Vista Gadget
World Clock Vista Gadget is a lightweight tool which tells you time from your desktop in a stylish way. Since it comes with limited features, the app can be seamlessly installed and configured by less experienced users.
The GUI of the app is based on a small layout which resembles a clock with time displayed in analog mode. When you hover the mouse cursor over the frame, you are able to view time in the digital format (in both the 12-hour and 24-clock mode), along with the current day and date.
By accessing the 'Options' screen from the context menu, it is possible to configure some settings. For instance, you can write a name for the clock to be displayed in the main frame, modify the default time zone and enable daylight saving mode, as well as hide the day-to-night animation and the seconds hand.
Thanks to some additional settings (the default ones provided by the operating system), you can increase the size of the frame, move it to any position on the screen with the help of the mouse cursor, make it stay on top of other windows, as well as adjust its opacity level between 20% and 100%.
The small app does not put a strain on the computer's resources, as it runs on a low amount of CPU and system memory. It is very responsive to commands and did not cause the operating system to freeze, crash or pop up error dialogs during our testing. Thanks to its intuitive and attractive layout, World Clock Vista Gadget makes a good alternative to Windows' default clock tool. Unfortunately, no recent updates have been made.
