Having a desktop peppered with a million shortcuts can be quite annoying as it’s always difficult to find the desired items. However, putting them all together can save you plenty of time.
Quick Dock is a small tool that can be used to manage links and shortcuts. It has a simple interface that should be easy to figure out by all users, thanks to the intuitive layout.
The program grabs all the links and shortcuts that are placed in the Quick Launch directory. Once defined, the widget takes all the links and shortcuts and makes them available via an extendable widget.
Thus, they can be launched straight from the app’s interface, without having to look for them on the desktop. The app can use the default directory to search for shortcuts. Also, it can display the icon’s filename in a tooltip, thus helping you locate the desired icon faster.
The app’s display comes in two sizes, depending on the size of icons you want to use. The dock can be centered in the bottom of the screen, similarly to other apps. The window can be moved to any area of the screen and it can always be on top of other windows.
The frame may be set to ignore mouse movements and accidental dragging. Its opacity is also adjustable.
All in all, Quick Dock is a nice tool that is sure to come in handy. Less experienced individuals should find it easy to handle, thanks to the intuitive layout.
