Shutdown Scheduler is a simple-to-use desktop gadget that enables you to immediately execute a power option for the computer, as well as to schedule a shutdown or restart task.
It does not contain complex options or configuration settings, making the tool accessible to all types of users, even the ones with no previous experience in such software.
User-friendly interface and options
The interface is made from a small frame that can be moved anywhere on the screen. Thanks to the default Windows options which are applicable to most widgets, it is possible to change the window's opacity level as well as make it stay on top of other frames.
Execute a power option right away
Three buttons let you immediately lock the workstation, restart it, shut it down, or put it in standby mode. Two additional buttons are dedicated to scheduled tasks. Their properties can be separately edited from the "Options" area.
Schedule power options
So, it is possible to establish a countdown timer for shutting down or restarting the computer (in minutes), or choose an exact time of the current day to trigger it at (in hours and minutes). Since there are two buttons, you can configure two different set of options (for example, one scheduled task and one timed task).
Evaluation and concusion
As expected, the app is undemanding when it comes to CPU and RAM, so it does not hog system resources. We have not come across any problems throughout our evaluation, as the tool did not hang, crash or pop up error messages.
In a nutshell, Shutdown Scheduler offers a simple solution to Windows 7 users when it comes to scheduling an automatic power option for the PC, but it does not include rich features.
