SysInfo Vista Gadget
SysInfo Vista Gadget is a lightweight gadget which displays system information directly on your desktop. It can be handled by power users or avid video gamers, for example.
The interface of the tool is based on a small frame which can be moved to any spot on the screen, with the help of the mouse cursor.
Clicking the computer icon bring ups a larger frame where you can view the name and service pack version of the operating system, computer's current uptime, processor information, CPU utilization level, used and free memory, hard disk space and removable storage space, along with CD/DVD and network drive information.
Several customization options are available through SysInfo Vista Gadget. Thus, you can switch to a different language for the UI, decrease the frame size, modify the font name and color, disable the text shadow, as well as adjust the refresh interval, CPU and network traffic refresh rates.
But you can also enable the gadget to continuously record the computer uptime, pick between normal, compact and compressed frame mode, as well as select what type of information to be shown (e.g. CPU line meters, battery information). Thanks to the default options provided by the operating system, you may also make the frame stay on top of other windows, and adjust its opacity level.
The small tool uses a very low amount of CPU and system memory, is very responsive to keyboard and mouse commands, and worked smoothly during our tests without causing Windows to freeze, crash or pop up error dialogs. All in all, SysInfo Vista Gadget, should satisfy all users who want to be up-to-date with the system information of their computer. Unfortunately, no recent updates have been made.
