Developed for the Yahoo! Widget Engine, FXTrade Ticker is a lightweight widget that displays currency exchange rates directly on your desktop. These can be updated in real-time or on a daily basis.
The interface of the app is based on a small frame which you can move to any position on the screen, with the help of the mouse cursor.
You can view the default daily rates, together with directional indicators which point to either the rise or fall of the currency in question.
Several customization settings are available through the Widget Preferences section. Therefore, you can set up your preferred currency pair, adjust the update interval, as well as choose another color and font name for the rates text.
In addition, you can hide the fractional pips and show the accounts with zero balance. With the courtesy of the default options provided by the Yahoo! Widget Engine, you can change the frame's opacity level (between 20% and 100%), as well as make it stay on top of other windows.
The small widget does not put a strain on the computer's CPU and system memory, has a good response time and worked smoothly during our testing, without hanging, crashing or popping up error dialogs; we have not encountered any problems. All in all, FXTrade Ticker should please all users who frequently verify currency rates, since it can be seamlessly figured out.
