ISO images are archive files which store the contents of an optical disc in a standardized format.
In order to access the contents of an ISO file, users will need to rely on dedicated applications or burn them onto discs and read them using their default CD-ROMs.
Some ISO burners will enable users to create bootable discs based on their images, provided the archive stores an operating system.
When burning these images onto discs, one will have the possibility to choose the type of media they prefer, CD, DVD or even Blu-ray disc.
