Convert FITS Files

FITS (an acronym for Flexible Image Transport System) is a graphic file format which is largely used for the grabbed frames from telescope observations.

Since it was particularly created to store astrononmical data in a standard format, FITS format may contain both ASCII text and binary data, therefore users should be careful when converting the files.

Nonetheless, users are typically more interested in the graphical contents of the files, so they will usually opt for converting FITS to image formats, rather than ASCII-compatible ones.

Considering FITS is not a highly common format, users prefer to convert their files to more popular formats.
